| Like many of us today, our company operates in
a very competitive industry. It is also an industry facing many pressures
from regulators and consumers to reduce the use of unnecessary packaging.
At Allviron we are proactively seeking ways to minimise our own, and
our products impact on the environment.

Allviron
participates in the Plastic and Chemicals Industries Association (PACIA)
Plascare initiative. Plascare is an Occupational, Health and Safety programme
designed to improve all aspects of personnel health and safety and physical
asset protection in plastics manufacturing. The programme implements a
code of practice, a compliance audit checklist and provides training for
our staff.
Currently we have a number of our workforce undergoing
vocation related education. This training involves on site training once
a month, complemented during the same month, with classroom time at a
local college. Whether the training is on or off site, during, or outside,
normal hours, Allviron handles the course fees and staff are paid their
normal rates of pay. The staff members involved will receive formal nationally
recognised certificates of competency in the chosen subject.
| When asked “But what if
you train them and they leave?” we reply “But what if
we don’t train them and they stay?” |
